Ground was broken for the start of construction work on the “Headline” project in October 2010. The old mail distribution centre in Innsbruck’s Brunecker Strasse was torn down and a modern, aesthetically pleasing office and commercial building was constructed in its place. “Headline” raises the profile of the entire district and create a new environment. The new complex has been designed by Vienna-based architectural firm Henke und Schreieck. The 5-storey high, slightly curved building and the 49-metre high, 12-storey hotel tower – the most eye-catching feature of the complex – will give the Brunecker Strasse a new identity. The building’s usable area covers 21,000 m2, house luxury offices and commercial premises and offers space for 1,000 workstations. The top floor features a roof terrace with general access offering a breathtaking view over the city and the stunning mountain landscape of the Tyrol region. The building also marks the new east entrance to Innsbruck city centre, which blends harmoniously into the cityscape. The building was finished in 2012 and houses the following establishments:
